We are looking for a highly motivated Chemistry Lab Technician to join our team!
The successful candidate will play a supporting role in the manufacturing of our company’s core consumable products. The successful candidate combines a positive attitude, enthusiasm to learn and operate modern laboratory instrumentation/equipment, record observed results, and take responsibility for completion of work. This is an exciting position for a technician who wants to be part of team that makes world a better place.
This is a full-time contract position.
How You’ll Contribute
- Operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments (training will be provided), such as: automated purification equipment (Prep-LC), distillation equipment (rotovap), benchtop pH meter, balance, controlled-temperature baths, freeze-dryers (lyophilizer), HPLC, mass spectrometer, etc…
- Purification and characterization of nucleotides and other products.
- Maintain inventory of bulk solvents and chemicals, purchase supplies, and coordinate the disposal of solvent waste.
- Preparation of aqueous buffers and reagents needed for manufacturing.
- Keeping logs and recording of results.
- Assist scientists with organic synthesis and other in daily activities.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- B.S. Chemistry/related scientific discipline
- Willingness to learn the operation and upkeep of modern process equipment and techniques used in genomics (Training will be provided).
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain mechanical equipment.
- Excellent reliability, time management, communication, and people skills are a must.
- Strong sense of urgency, can-do attitude, reliability, and teamwork.
