The Opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for people embarking on their Tech career or for those who are looking to make a career from their interest in Python.  Our expert training providers will take you through 12 weeks of full time virtual learning, preparing you to move into industry as a Software Engineer.

After completing training, you will work with our leading public sector client – the Office of National Statistics (ONS) – ranked as one of Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work 2023, as a Software Engineer specialising in Python.

Recent graduate, hobbyist programmer or returning to work after a career break – through the training, you will gain the necessary knowledge to start with our client day 1 ready.

 

The Training

During your first 12 weeks, you will learn Software Engineering essentials including CI/CD, DevOps culture, Cloud fundamentals, how to work as part of an Agile team, taking you from beginner knowledge in Python to specialist and equipping you to embark on your software engineering career path.

 

The role

As a Software Engineer in Python, you would:

 

  • Writing clear and well documented code in Python, which is scalable. Programming in Python & Flask
  • Creating Python based CRUD Inventory Management System in a selected domain
  • Designing infrastructure for a CRUD application
  • Reviewing & optimising code to ensure processes continue to perform optimally
  • Cleansing, validation and enhancement of data
  • Profiling data and automating the capture of data structures and content
  • Translating data sources into useful and useable data sets
  • Perform troubleshooting & debugging

 

The Criteria

  • Degree level educated (preferably STEM but will consider other areas)
  • Fluency in English language
  • Hold permanent right to work in UK (without restriction)
  • Appetite to learn
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously
  • The ability to self-motivate and to own problems, with a strong attention to detail and effective communication skills
  • A basic knowledge of programming or a passion for technology
