POSITION TITLE:              Technical Support Specialist – Junior Administrator
STATUS:                              Full Time, Non-Exempt, Benefited
REPORTS TO:                     IT Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
This position will be Front line support hardware, software, and LAN-related issues.  Will be required to create and administer company account permissions and access.  Works with end-users to identify technical problems or inefficiencies and provide IT solutions.  Protects company IT security through support of Anti-Virus and SSO solutions. Manage In House PBX system, VOIP services, and telephony reports.  Create and set proper permissions on file server and print server. Support of other software and hardware solutions as introduced to our organization.   Assists the Network Engineer as needed.
Will require daily, reliable, time-efficient transportation within the bi-state region. Position requires sitting at a desk for extended periods, standing, and walking for periods above one hour.  Requires working with computers, IT equipment, kneeling, manual/visual dexterity, and working in cramped spaces, if needed. After-hours and weekend hours are required.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Responsible for handling and maintaining day-to-day information technology (IT) operations for the organization.
Provide support to end-users on a variety of issues. Identify, research, and resolve technical problems in person, via telephone, or remotely.
Prompt ticket resolution.
Provide new staff with proper computer resources and set up of company’s computer systems and train new team members on computers, applications, policies, and network to work efficiently.
Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems, and applications; replacing parts as required.
Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
Work continuously on a task until completion.
Support rollout of new applications.
Create and maintain documentation for IT-related policy and procedures.
Creation, support, & administrate user accounts and permissions; Active Directory, E-Mail/Exchange, Imprivata, OKTA, VPN.
Programming, maintenance, and administration of the in-house PBX system, VOIP Phones; extensions, voicemail, automated attendant, and telephony reporting.
Support of LAN, WIFI, and VPN software and accounts
Support & maintenance of Anti-Virus/Malware Protection
Support & maintenance of Security Systems (proximity cards, gate openers)
 
RISK MANAGEMENT AND QUALITY ASSURANCE
Adheres to PPSLRSWMO’s and department policies that ensure the provision of the highest quality and most professional services to all PPSLRSWMO clients
Protects PPSLRSWMO’s assets from liability
Assures for the physical safety of PPSLRSWMO clients, staff, and volunteers.
Protects confidentiality of all PPSLRSWMO clients, donors, Board and all areas of operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
May require certification in specific applications.
Requires a bachelor’s degree or 3 years of experience in the relevant informational technology field or in a related area.
1-2 years’ experience administrating Windows Users and Computers in Active Directory.
1-2 years’ experience administrating file server.
Current driver’s license, current insurance, own/have reliable transportation.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess strong interpersonal skills to explain system issues to non-technical personnel.
Must be able to prioritize work and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Must have strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
