Full-Time IT Server and Storage Support Manager

The IT Server and Storage Support Manager is the leader and champion of reliability, availability and support disciplines surrounding infrastructure, server and storage. The position is responsible for the 24×7 operational support of the centralized data center services including servers, storage, backup, messaging, authentication, systems management, and other associated technology. This person will need to be knowledgeable of a wide variety of technologies.
What you will do to contribute to the company’s success
Set forth below is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities (or “essential functions”) of this position.
- Manage the daily team calendar to assure the correct skillsets are available to cover tickets and project work
- Manage the ticket queue(s) for incidents, problems and work orders, and prioritize work to meet SLAs and customer deadlines
- Hold daily team meetings to update day boards and look for process improvement opportunities that create value for our customers
- Ensure high reliability/availability of all production servers, authentication, and backup and storage systems throughout organization.
- Create operational excellence through developing, maintaining and disseminating appropriate performance-based metrics.
- Responsible for capacity planning and resource management of IT Server and Storage Support team.
- Accountable for the oversight and execution of Life Cycle Management plans.
- Ensures all operational projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization’s established policies, goals and meet budget/timeline objectives.
- Monitor controls to comply with regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university PLUS 5 years of related experience and/or training in infrastructure, server and / or storage.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Certifications in one or more of the following disciplines are desired, Lean IT Foundation, Six Sigma Green Belt, and ITIL Foundations
- 3+ years in IT Management role preferred.
- 2+ years in an IT Lead role preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience with large scale integrated multi system environments preferred.
- Experienced with developing and maintaining performance-based metrics preferred.
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Capable of assembling and delivering presentations to Executive level teams.
- Must be a flexible team player that observes Cable ONE’s Basic Principles.
- Position will require up to 10% travel.
Supervisory responsibilities
- Directly responsible for managing a team of 7-9 direct reports. Carries out all management responsibilities in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws, including but not limited to interviewing, hiring, training, monitoring, coaching, along with planning, assigning, and directing work. Responsible for performance vacation planning, evaluation, recognition, disciplinary action, and termination.
