Full-Time IT Manager

Overview

 

The IT Manager’s responsibility is to lead the deployment and utilization of technology by increasing the velocity of information throughout the company, through the creation and maintenance of a very user-friendly and reliable system with a consistent and easy-to-use interface. The IT (information technology) department’s role is to leverage technology in business processes and software/systems design and provide input and recommendations in the development and implementation of applications to facilitate those processes. The primary areas of focus include department and employee role/process efficiency, corporate information security, and cost-saving business process improvements. Additionally, the IT Manager will assist in developing and maintaining the corporate intranet and other platforms for improved communication and provide systems administration and management of hardware and software support.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the organization’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining and delivering strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
  • Consult with department heads and other stakeholders to develop system solutions consistent with organizational objectives and needs.
  • Oversee, manage, and perform a variety of technical duties in support of hardware and software maintenance, network and system administration, and training functions; administer and maintain files, database and application servers, client desktop workstations and user support, network wiring, routing and communication equipment.
  • Ensure network components work together seamlessly to meet business needs, using their full range of capabilities, and stay informed about new features and competitor solutions.
  • Prepare cost–benefit analyses when upgrades are necessary and monitor vendors to ensure that they’re offering the best service and value for business needs.
  • Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review, and participate in the work of assigned staff (IT Tech).
  • Supports and maintains network and computer system security by performing regular security tests and security monitoring.
  • Stays up to date and current with the latest technological advances in order to ensure the organization is using the best technology available.
  • Manage the performance and installation for updates on all equipment, including new remote construction sites/trailers as needed (laptops, computers, printers, internet, phones).
  • Implement and maintain sustainable system backup processes. Assist in restoring or recovering files and/or systems; develop and implement disaster recovery policies and procedures, including periodic testing of system restorations.
  • Schedule maintenance and service calls for the building HVAC and security systems.
  • Manage the department and service providers to ensure there are on-call resources for all users.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ certifications (Server+ additionally preferred) or equivalent certifications from other established vendors (Cisco, Microsoft, etc).
  • Experience with MDM systems, Programming/Scripting/SQL, API Interfacing, Report Writing, and Data Analytics.
  • Experience with administrating the following systems in an enterprise environment:

-Microsoft 365 for Business                                        -Windows Server

-Hyper-V                                                                     -SonicWall firewalls

-VPN services                                                              -Remote connectivity

 

  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems.
  • Expertise in data center management and data governance.
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all levels of the company.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science/Information Technology/Systems or 7+ years equivalent experience in supporting IT infrastructure in an enterprise environment.
  • 5+ years’ experience in IT Management, including management and development of employees.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with programming languages and operating systems (MS Exchange, Active Directory, and other Windows-based systems), current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and system performance monitoring.
  • Experience with MDM systems, Programming/Scripting/SQL, API Interfacing, Report Writing, and Data Analytics.
  • Construction Industry Experience preferred.
