Full-Time IT Desktop Support Engineer (late shift)
Job Description
We’re looking to expand our local IT team in a fast changing and developing IT environment. This role will be based out of our New York office located in Midtown Manhattan working with the local IT team, Managed Service Providers and internal clients in a large open office environment. This position will be working on late shift permanently (12pm – 9pm Eastern Time).
Your role and responsibilities:
- First line user support (on site, via call or remote), accurately diagnose issues
- Cover a broad technology stack (desktop computer, virtual desktops, mobile devices as well as partly switches, networks, data center equipment)
- Support IT equipment in our conference rooms (e.g. video conferencing, presentations and audio equipment)
- IT-support for large investor conferences hosted off-site
- Troubleshooting and resolution of hardware, software, OS or network related issues
- Manage and resolve ad-hoc user requests
- System monitoring and user administration
- Ad-hoc network configuration changes and troubleshooting
- Work with vendors and other third parties on day-to-day basis
- Take ownership of smaller projects and deliverables
- Setting up new desks with IT equipment as well as supporting user/desk moves within the office
- Working on global projects in collaboration with third parties, our IT teams in Europe and our business stakeholders
Your experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Ability to act as internal ‘help desk’ and provide immediate site support to users with technical issues
- Experience with
- Office 365 services required (MS Office, Intune, ExO)
- virtual desktop environment (Citrix, VMWare)
- Windows Server, Group Policy, Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange
- Network administration and cybersecurity preferred
- Azure Cloud services preferred
- Microsoft Teams (ideal, and preferred)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience in supporting users in a Broker/Dealer environment would be helpful and experience with research user preferred
- Good communication skills, ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to a demanding client base, meeting deadlines
- Client oriented, proactive in providing excellent customer service
- Highly motivated, structured, reliable and detailed.
- Driven, with a hands-on attitude and flexible but strategic approach
- Willingness to travel as needed
