Full-Time International Admissions Manager

Job Description

Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full time exempt International Admissions Manager in the Office of International Programs. This position will be responsible for international student admissions, records and data management, immigration advising and reporting, office management and student support services for the office. This position reports to the Associate Director of International Programs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage daily operations of international student admissions; keep informed of the latest developments that impact international admissions.
• Responsible for international admission decisions; review admission documents including applications for admission, bank statements, foreign transcripts, sponsoring agency letters and immigration documents.
• Manage international student data management functions; maintain the accuracy and confidentiality of international student records to comply with FERPA, SEVIS and other governmental and institutional policies.
• Advise prospective international students, agents, parents and U.S. and overseas contacts regarding international admissions policies and procedures and related immigration policies and procedures.
• Initiate and develop processes to improve admissions procedures, documents and data systems.
• Act as the (Primary)/Designated School Official (P/DSO) for Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) to ensure compliance with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and related federal policies; prepare immigration paperwork (I-20s, change of status, reinstatement, OPT, CPT, etc.).
• Collect, analyze and compile international student enrollment data for reporting purposes; initiate queries for reports, rosters and placements of holds on records; run specialty reports for management and compliance purposes.
• Review and reconcile program budgets; prepare and track program expenditures including purchase orders, invoices and sponsor/agent payments.
• Administer international student medical insurance coverage program; track payments and fund transfers; communicate with insurance company and foreign embassies/agencies.
• Work with International Student Programs staff to provide international student support services and referrals (immigration, housing, banking, employment, medical, personal, DMV, Social Security, verification letters, etc.).
• Supervise work of program assistant/receptionist(s).
• Work to achieve and support diversity objectives as established by the College.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• 2 years’ experience in international admissions or international programs at the college/university level.
• Experience in working with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Knowledge and skills in the use of database systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Record keeping and office management experience.
• Experience in using current technology that supports creative and efficient approaches to office processes.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and command of written and spoken English.
• Self-starter with the ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision, effectively prioritize work, and multitask.
• Other: Must have U.S. citizenship or permanent residency to serve as P/DSO and access Department of Homeland Security’s Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).

Preferred Qualifications:
• 2 years’ experience working with SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) and immigration policies and procedures.
• Experience using PeopleSoft, Access and SMS databases.
• Experience living or working in another country.
• Ability to speak a second language.

Salary Statement: $53,513 annually
