Who we are
Crest Advisory are crime and justice specialists – equal parts research, strategy and communication. Working with police forces, government, tech companies, and public inquiries, who all have a key part to play in building a safer, more secure society we:
- research the big issues or dig into an organisation’s data
- advise clients on how best to achieve the best outcomes
- communicate (and help them communicate) the message to the wider world
From delving into a deeper understanding of victims’ needs for the Crown Prosecution Service, making films and running press offices for high profile legal organisations, researching county lines, maternal imprisonment or the use of stop and search, we work across some of the most important and impactful subject matters in the criminal justice system.
We foster a culture of support and challenge and provide both our clients and each other with advice that cuts through and adds value. We are a multi-disciplinary team who have worked across some of the biggest and most serious issues in crime and justice.
What we are looking for
Enthusiastic, bright and capable people to join us in the summer of 2022 on work placements. We are looking for people with a demonstrable ability to foster relationships, be organised and meticulous in diary management and admin and generally enjoy rolling their sleeves up on projects. A healthy interest and understanding of crime and justice, the legal world and/or politics is advantageous but most importantly we are looking for a thirst for learning on the job. Good research and communications skills are vital – as is being able to represent Crest in front of clients and their audiences, and having the ability to work as part of a team.
We are looking for people to support our three core business areas:
- Research
- Communications
- Strategy and Insight
Responsibilities
While every day is different, typical tasks are likely to include:
- Putting together presentations and slide decks
- Managing diaries and project meetings/interviews with stakeholders
- Taking notes during project meetings and interviews
- Literature reviews and research
- Helping draft polling and communications
We may also ask for help with administrative tasks to support the general functioning of the office.

How to Apply
Please send your contact details and:
1. a blog you have written of no more than 500 words about an idea you have, a question or an issue you think is overlooked, a problem you believe needs addressing (or solution to one) or a trend or pattern you have spotted. Or something else entirely but you should bear in mind that Crest operates broadly in the criminal justice sector.
2. a summary of how you might be able to demonstrate the following: being digitally smart, research savvy or perhaps your strong people skills or administrative capabilities.
