Full-Time Intellectual Property Docket Specialist

Thompson Coburn, a large full-service law firm with offices in eight (8) cities across the U.S., is in search of a full-time non-exempt IP Docket Specialist to join its St. Louis or Chicago office. Under the leadership of the Intellectual Property Support Services Supervisor, this position will be responsible for data entry of reminders and deadlines for the Intellectual Property Practice group, using Anaqua, IPDAS and other databases. After an initial period of training, this position is eligible for a hybrid-remote work schedule.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists with and analyzes incoming docketing correspondence.
  • Enters docketing information according to instructions from Legal Administrative Assistants, paralegals, and attorneys and returns to appropriate party with updates for review.
  • Updates references for Information Disclosure Statement purposes in the Intellectual Property Document Assembly System (IPDAS).
  • Assists IP Systems Administrator with back-end system support and database management.
 Experience and Education Qualifications:
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in IP docketing in a law firm setting required.
  • Broad knowledge of the patent and trademark prosecution process and maintenance for both domestic and foreign matters preferred.
  • Familiarity with Anaqua intellectual property management software preferred.
  • Must possess attention to detail, ability to balance multiple projects, and must possess strong time management skills.
