SALARY: $31,106-$55,761
LOCATION: Niceville Campus
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
Duties and Responsibilities
The Instructional Technologist is directly accountable to the CITL Director for the following duties and responsibilities. The individual filing this position is expected to play a positive role in helping the College change as necessary to effectively carryout its mission.
- Provide technical support to NWF faculty and staff for all technologies and systems supported by the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning.
- Assist with instructional video production and editing in support of the Quality Enhancement Plan.
- Support faculty with online course development by assisting with course copies, exports and imports.
- Assist in researching, testing and updating components of Blackboard Ultra.
- Assist with creating professional development materials and conducting trainings.
- Coordinate maintenance on educational technology applications as necessary.
- Assist with documentation, projects, and reports to provide data and documentation as needed for the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning.
- Assist with installation and support of all third party applications related to Blackboard such as LTI integrations and building blocks.
- Create users, courses and enrollments in Blackboard as needed, collaborating with other college staff as appropriate.
- As a part of the college’s risk management tool annual mandatory compliance training is required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of postsecondary coursework and related experience required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Demonstrated familiarity with Learning Management Systems, such as Canvas, and lecture capture (Zoom and Kaltura) preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Suite preferred).
- Technical knowledge of professional grade video and audio equipment.
- Demonstrated familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and web browsers.
- Demonstrated interest in students and the ability to interact effectively with both students and faculty.
- Technical support experience preferred (staffing a help desk, assisting users with software/hardware one-on-one, training groups of users in software/hardware, etc.).
- Work experience in a higher education setting preferred.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
