The Opportunity

One of Tenovus Cancer Care’s key aims is to gain insight into the issues affecting people with cancer and to help make sure cancer research positively affects cancer outcomes and experiences. So, we’ve established an All-Wales Cancer Community through which the voices of those affected by cancer in Wales are heard.

This generates admin work and we need you to help us be organised and efficient in this area. As well as this you’ll have the chance to get stuck into things hands on as you’ll help the team evaluate the service and actively identify and engage prospective All-Wales Cancer Community members.

You’re a first point of contact for stakeholders we work with, so your communication and customer service skills are top notch – whether that’s on the phone, in person or in writing. You’re passionate and confident when it comes to working with people. You listen and communicate carefully and clearly, and adapt and flex your style to a variety of tasks.

It’d stand you in good stead if you’ve experience in handling various data and social research methods. Third Sector experience or having worked with seldom heard groups would also be a plus, as this is a role where these skills and experience could be well used.

It’s a varied role where you’ll contribute lots to the team and learn from colleagues around you. You’ll be busy doing lots of things such as pulling reports and documents together, creating online content copy, sending newsletters, database and note-taking work as well as supporting our policy and project development work.

Tell us more about you

You may be passionate about our cancer cause and driven by making real impact through your work where you help people in a positive way. You may be data and outcome driven and go about things in a logical and sensible way.  You may be proud to want to work for a Welsh-based organisation that has a focus in working with local communities and a charity that generates change through empowerment.

We really want the best in terms of skills, attitude and people who share our values. If we’re talking to you we’d love to hear more about you.

So, we could be a good match if your attitude, skills and experience demonstrate:

  • You match our values and are committed to being part of delivering our vision and mission
  • You’re good at building relationships, have a team attitude and work in an inclusive and collaborative way with others
  • You’ve done this sort of role already and can bring fresh ideas to the table
  • You’ve an eye for detail and accuracy when it comes to data and admin work
  • You manage multiple tasks and thrive in a role where you need to be adaptable to change or respond swiftly
  • You’re good at working with data, producing reports and writing engaging copy and compelling information
  • You’re customer / stakeholder focused and build effective relationships
