Job Description
The Center for Black Health & Equity (The Center) is the leading nationally recognized public health entity for solutions impacting African American health. We engage healthcare organizations, public health officials, faith leaders, and African American communities in health promotion and disease prevention work. We apply our proven policy and social change framework to our work in tobacco control, COVID-19, HIV/AIDS, women’s health, cancer, mental health, and other disparities. We are searching for a dynamic, consummate professional to join The Center team, and support the objectives of our organization.
The IT Analyst will provide technical support to The Center’s staff and partners working remotely and onsite efficiently and effectively. The IT Analyst will be responsible for developing hardware, software, and connectivity recommendations and implementing a system to support the organization’s needs.
This full-time, exempt position is remote, with a preference for candidates in Atlanta, Georgia, Durham, North Carolina, or Cleveland, Ohio.
The hiring salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000.
Responsibilities
- Design an efficient and innovative IT system to meet the business and technology needs of The Center, coordinating the development, building, implementation, and maintenance of technology solutions.
- Work in an end-user-facing network environment with minimal supervision, performing network and device troubleshooting (laptops, tablets, mobile cell phones), and issue resolution.
- Develop and analyze functional specifications while integrating multiple hardware and software systems and reconciling the needs of different teams, including staff members and community partners.
- Provides training, advises, and provides users with information guidance, and instruction on the use of desktop and portable computer hardware and software, and mobile devices.
- Plans and organizes projects, including systemwide upgrades, hardware, and software installation and maintenance.
- Installs desktops, portable computers, laptops, peripherals, and software for network, classified, unclassified, and standalone environments.
- Identifies, documents, and recommends solutions for performance, process, and system improvements.
- Effectively communicates with users by telephone, electronic communications, or in person to better understand their needs and requirements.
- Conducts IT audits as assigned and ensures compliance in accordance with policies governing the administration, utilization, and acquisition of desktop and portable computer products.
- Coordinate the disassembly and reinstallation of IT equipment in support of office relocations and new buildings/locations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, must be physically able to walk, squat, bend, twist, lift, crawl under desks, reach, carry items, and push and pull carts loaded with equipment with or without reasonable accommodation.
- The IT Analyst must be able to provide support for company assets offsite (75%) and onsite in The Center’s field offices in Durham, NC, and Cleveland, OH (25%)
- Stay abreast of technology best practices, trends, and development.

Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Arts Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 5+ years of experience with hands-on IT support and networking.
- Proven experience in project management and working on complex IT assignments.
- Knowledge of and support experience with a variety of hardware, software, and operating systems, including Windows OS, IOS, and Google OS.
- Knowledge and experience with mobile device troubleshooting – Android and iPhone (preferred)
- IT Certifications applicable to desktop and mobile computer support are desired.
- Extensive experience in end user-facing roles
- Network equipment troubleshooting experience
- Knowledge of and competency in software installation and maintenance procedures.
- Knowledge of databases, system security, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of business practices
- Exemplary communication skills
- Problem-solving aptitude and an analytical mindset
