Full-Time Information Services Manager
Job Description
The Information Services Manager is the primary point of contact for the integration and maintenance of USENIX’s customer relationship management system, website content management system, event registration system, event submission and review system, employee applications, and other information services related to the implementation of the organizational work and mission. Reporting to the Executive Director and in close collaboration with the Operations Director, the IS Manager works with all departments to provide technical expertise and supports teams in developing efficient practices.
Duties
- Monitor and maintain Google Workspace, LastPass, Microsoft Office, and other applications used by employees
- Ensure appropriate settings for security and usability
- Set up and retire accounts
- Stay abreast of new features, determine relevance, and inform employees as needed
- Monitor licenses and negotiate renewal terms
- Act as liaison with contracted service providers for website development and IT support and assess the performance of said contractor, making recommendations for any changes to that provider as necessary
- In conjunction with Production Manager and Operations Director, prioritize tickets for website developers and engage with them in determining design solutions; handle issues that do not require contractor expertise
- Maintain contact with IT support service provider, ensuring that staff escalates issues appropriately and that they are handled adequately by contractor; negotiate contract renewals
- In conjunction with department managers and Operations Director, analyze and enhance efficiency of internal processes; write scripts as needed; research and recommend software/platform solutions where appropriate
- Become expert in the interactions among the CRM, CMS,, and event registration system; provide troubleshooting; research and recommend improvements where advisable
- Ensure that all backup systems are functioning properly; test data retrieval
- Work with the developer of the event submission and review system to identify problems and propose improvements
- Assist Communications team with building reports for mailing lists and using advanced features of marketing automation software
- Use various platforms such as Cvent, Salesforce, and Drupal to locate attendee/user account information and carry out any related requests
- Manage TechSoup account and purchases; stay abreast of new offerings
- Manage software and hardware asset tracking
- Assist with special projects as needed
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience
- Able to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences, both verbally and written
- Proven ability to work in a team environment; strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated skill in streamlining processes and developing solutions to a wide range of problems
- Well honed analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Strong scripting skills
- CRM management experience, with a preference for Salesforce administration
- CMS management and back-end web development experience, with a preference for Drupal administration and development
- Google Workspace administration experience
- Solid HTML/CSS skills
- Experienced in creating and maintaining documentation
- Able to work in and learn a variety of platforms, tools, and applications
Compensation and Location
The salary for this full-time, exempt position will be commensurate with experience, in the range of $80K-$90K. We offer a generous benefits package including health, vision, dental, retirement, holidays, and vacation. This is a remote position; candidates must be US-based.
