We are currently hiring for the position of:
HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST
Reporting to the Senior Manager, People & Culture and in collaboration with department colleagues, the Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for planning and delivering human resources services and programs at TIFF along with coaching and counselling managers and employees to positive and productive outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shall include but not be limited to:
RECRUITMENT & SELECTION (25%):
- Coordinates recruitment & selection services for all internal/external staff vacancies including intern/co-op opportunities in accordance with recognized best practices, legislated requirements, and respective collective agreements
- Coordinates the intern/co-op placement program including recommending processes and procedures to promote learning/engagement opportunities. Addresses/processes placement opportunity requests from managers including reviewing suitability/applicability or placement descriptions. Develops contacts with prospective university, community college and secondary school participants
- Identifies and recommends new processes and procedures to improve program and service-delivery effectiveness and efficiency
- Maintains and develops recruitment & selection tools/resources (e.g. offer letters, employment contracts, etc.)
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS (30%):
- Coordinates and facilitates new hire orientation and drives internal buddy system program
- Manages all communications and data collection around performance management program and supports employees and people managers with process
- Investigates and resolves employee complaints in consultation with Senior Manager, People & Culture
- Conducts exit interviews and presents findings and recommendations as required
- Develops and coordinates wellness week program and wellness related initiatives
- Provides support with policy development and rollout
HR ADMINISTRATION (40%):
- Maintains and answers queries in the HR email account
- Processes purchase orders and other expenses through finance/accounting system and submits for approval
- Coordinates disability management process and liaises with employee, managers, payroll, HR, and Sunlife/WSIB
- Conducts research and data collection on People & Culture projects and initiatives as assigned. Compiles information, researches and sources materials/resources
- Coordinates training events and assists with the development of training materials and content from identified training needs
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned
COMMITTEES (5%):
- Participates in departmental committees and teams as required. Collaborates with internal service departments and external vendors as People & Culture designate in the absence of departmental colleagues
JOB GRADE & SALARY
- Grade 2
- Minimum Salary: $60,000/Yearly
TARGET CONTRACT DATES OR START DATE:
- July 4, 2022
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years demonstrated recruitment and selection experience with hard to fill roles, high volume searches, unique positions, internship programs, student funded opportunities
- 2+ years experience with developing and implementing HR programs, processes, and initiatives including full cycle recruitment, onboarding, orientation, performance management, etc.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, diplomacy, emotional intelligence and customer focus, to service staff and provide an excellent employee experience
- Well-developed knowledge and skills in databases including applicant tracking systems, Google Suite and Microsoft Office; experience with HRMS systems
- Resourceful and able to work well independently and in a small team environment
- Superior administrative skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure data accuracy and consistent processes/practices
- Project coordination skills to deliver on HR related events
- Ability to stay organized (and keep others organized) and meet deadlines in a face-paced environment with competing priorities
- Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet manner
- Basic knowledge of HR best practices and provincial legislation in order to provide sound HR support
- This position requires being in office on a regular basis, aligning with our Flexible Work from Home Policy.
