The Role
The Human Resources Assistant (HR Assistant) will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the Human Resources Department. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this position will assist with recruitment, onboarding, inboarding, compliance, and record maintenance. This position is temporary and part-time (average 15 hours per week).
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment:
Review job descriptions and post job ads.
Screen job applications and resumes.
Schedule interviews and conduct phone screens.
Provide guidance to hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
Pre-Employment Tasks:
Assist in the pre-employment process for new hires, including offer letters and reference/background checks.
Onboarding:
Lead HR orientation.
Update the organizational chart.
Send out new hire welcome kits.
Complete and maintain Form I-9 records.
Conduct new hire check-ins and ensure the completion of new hire paperwork.
Inboarding of Internal Employees:
Create and manage Asana boards.
Compliance:
Coordinate sexual harassment prevention training.
Ensure the distribution of all required labor and legal posters.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
Handle employment and salary verification
Qualifications
1-2 years of administrative experience
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint) and related communication tools (Slack)
Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented and able to multi-task
Must be able to handle confidential matters
Effective written and verbal communication skills and able to interact with staff at all levels
HR experience preferred, but not required
What We Offer
- $30.00 per hour; average 15 hours per week
Part-Time Temporary Position – Expected end date: June 28, 2023
- Accrued 1 hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked
- Transit and Parking FSA
- This position is hybrid with the expectation of working in our San Francisco office; JVS does not provide relocation packages
