Full-Time Human Resources and Compliance Coordinator

Job Description

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for an HR & Compliance Coordinator to support our Home Furniture business.  Our Home Furniture business brings an intense focus on the customer, innovation, world-class manufacturing capabilities, and a global footprint together to create full package solutions for the industry.  We do not make furniture.  We make furniture more comfortable.  We need the best people on our team to support our strategy, and your work will ensure people around the world have a little more comfort in their lives.

As an HR & Compliance Coordinator, you will have a direct impact on the business by supporting critical people operations, safety, quality and environmental programs. You’ll work with a team focused on living Leggett & Platt’s values and motivating each other to raise the bar. So, what will you be doing as an HR & Compliance Coordinator?

Human Resources

  • Understand federal and state employee regulations and guidelines.
  • Aide in supervisor and lead person interactions with employees.
  • Work within an HRIS system to update and maintain employee files.
  • Complete new hire process, orientation, and training.
  • Work with Staffing agency to fill open rolls.
  • Manage open enrollments and assisting employees with benefits and enrollment inquiries.
  • Complete weekly Payroll

Continuous Improvement Facilitator / Quality

  • Maintain and transition from our LP9000 program to ISO 9001.
  • Maintain and update the Continuous Improvement program, including suggestions from employees.
  • Lead internal audit team, schedule internal audits, and complete reports.
  • Be an advisor and trainer/coach.

Safety Manager

  • Ensure hours are reported to OSHA monthly.
  • Oversee safety projects and ensure they are done in timely manner.
  • Keep compliance through L&P Safeguard standards.
  • Facilitate required safety training and maintain training history.

 

Enhancing Furniture Environmental Culture (EFEC)

  • Oversee environmental projects and ensure they are completed in timely manner.
  • Maintain compliance through L&P environmental standards.
  • Complete yearly environmental reports and required filings.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • 3-5 years of Human Resources experience (in a manufacturing setting is a plus) or equivalent years of experience in Administration or Finance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic knowledge of Short Term and Long-Term disability, Benefits and FMLA.

Things we consider a plus:

  • General understanding of HRIS system.
  • Bilingual, English & Spanish.
