Full-Time HR Consultant III – Classification & Compensation – 2 Openings!
Job Description
- Serve as a lead classification & compensation analyst on our Classification and Compensation team.
- Answer questions from other analysts, direct them on possible courses of action, and provide assistance for non-routine and/or problematic classification actions to lower-level analysts.
- Serve on committees and attend meetings.
- Develop internal/external trainings for staff and field personnel technicians.
- Produce department reports for projects and requests.
- Conduct analysis for complex, controversial position actions that may have no internal comparisons.
- Determine if documentation submitted is sufficient, conduct position analysis, make comparisons to other positions, and make decision on appropriate actions.
- Independently develop study plan, strategies, and timeframes to ensure that all issues and problems are addressed and that the study plan is manageable.
- Meet independently with management and State Office of Human Resources (OSHR) staff to present recommendations for position allocations, concepts, and salary grade levels, that normally require negotiation.
- Work extensively on OSHR Statewide Classification and Compensation Program development and implementation, including developing new classifications for NCDOT and leading Subject Matter Expert Groups as program is implemented.
- Experience completing classification and compensation studies related to organizational management.
- Experience in job evaluation, classification analysis, compensation analysis, and organizational analysis including development of recommendations and detailed analysis reports.
- Demonstrated ability to prove short- and long-term goals and implementing programs/projects.
- Experience with the design, restructuring, and classification for a variety of classifications covering various occupational groups.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to write and develop high quality analytical reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, and
- 4+ years of experience required; or
- High School/GED Diploma, and
- 6+ years of progressive HR experience; or
- An equivalent combination or education and experience.
