NEW HIGHER SALARY: $45,675 – $79,932
The Challenge
We are hiring an HR Classification & Compensation leaders to join our Human Resources team.
 
In this role you will:
    • Serve as a Classification and Compensation consultant.
    • Answer questions for managers and field HR technicians.
    • Direct managers and field HR technicians on classification actions.
    • Serve on committees and attend meetings.
    • Assist in developing internal and external training for unit staff and field HR technicians.
    • Produce NCDOT reports for projects and requests.
    • Determine if documentation submitted is sufficient.
    • Conduct analysis of position findings, make comparisons to other positions, and make decisions on appropriate actions.
    • Independently develop study plans, strategies, and timeframes to ensure that all issues and problems are addressed and that study plans are manageable.
    • Meets independently with management to present recommendations for position allocations, concepts, and salary grade levels; normally requiring negotiation.
 
What You Bring
    • Knowledge of personnel and management practices, policies, and procedures.
    • Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting personnel and department guidelines and policies.
    • Knowledge of Federal and State Laws relating to Human Resources.
    • Demonstrated ability communicating with employees and management on a one-on-one and group basis.
    • Knowledge of alternate pay and classification programs.
Education & Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field; or
     
    • High School/GED Diploma, and
    • 3+years of progressive HR experience; or
  
    • An equivalent combination or education and experience.
