Full-Time HR Coach (Remote)

Job Description

The Position 

Our ability to run successful campaigns depends on our commitment to hiring the best staff and treating them well, and Human Resources is the lynchpin in upholding that commitment.

We are hiring an HR Coach to support staff. This is a job for an experienced HR Professional who knows how to resolve conflicts and can make sure all of our employees have a great experience once they’re on the team. This Coach will work directly with the fundraising team so experience with or enthusiasm for fundraising campaigns is a must.

This is a Specialist 1 role reporting to the HR Director and working closely with the National Canvass Director for Fundraising.

Job Summary

The Human Resources Coach will provide support to the Fundraising Department. They will operate as a coach and contact for new staff and for staff and managers throughout their employment.

The HR Coach will have regular conversations with staff to get ahead of issues, add clarity, and make sure staff are supported in their new role, or when it is not a good fit, help them transition out of their role well.

The HR Coach will work closely with the Fundraising leadership team to understand the models and program, to highlight issues and create action plans to address them.

The HR Coach will advise and assist management and employees on employee issues and concerns through communicating, interpreting and recommending appropriate use of human resource policies and procedures, and services and programs offered by the department.

What We Are Looking For 

Responsibilities

Support New Staff and serve as a Support Coach as they navigate their new role

  • Schedule, hold, and track regular conversations with new staff
  • Contact all new staff at regular intervals as they settle into their new position
  • Hold office hours for staff
  • Make sure staff are clear on policies, benefits, reimbursements, and expectations around performance and placement
  • Uncover issues
  • Offer coaching, guidance, perspective and insights
  • Reinforce expectations set by Fundraising Management team

Manage conflict and resolution as issues arise

  • Lead investigations following the complaint processes and procedures including thorough documentation, notifying appropriate parties, and written reports of findings.
  • Lead legwork for investigation (meeting with staff, legal, E&J, etc)
  • Manage the conflict and resolution until it is complete
  • Drive scheduling and accountability around the follow up meetings

Compile HR Data

  • Review and track goals and actuals on diversity and inclusion
  • Review rates and performance
  • Record follow up and tracking of all issues
  • Record pain points

Manage HR Changes for Fundraising Campaign Staff

  • Track employment timeline to ensure changes to benefits if applicable:
    • Changes to pay rate as needed
    • Eligibility to enroll in Healthcare
    • Eligibility to enroll in 401K
    • Opportunities for advancement
  • Track completion of Training and Staff Development Steps
    • Onboarding Trainings
    • Evaluations
    • Placement
  • Helping transition roles as needed

Work closely with HR Leadership and Fundraising Campaign Leadership

  • Meet regularly with and work closely with HR Director to manage conflicts, advise on needed policies and changes.
  • Meet regularly with Leadership to understand dynamics in projects, performance of staff and offices, training plans, and the program overall.
  • Meet regularly with National Canvass Director and report weekly on issues that are coming up, overall staff experience and performance, provide analysis and recommendations as needed

Qualifications 

Must Haves

  • 1-3 years of Employee Relations or Staff Management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Track record of exercising discretion with confidential information
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Experience managing projects and driving regular reporting
  • Track record of centering equity and justice in your work
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Fluency with G Suite
  • Enthusiasm for Small Donor Fundraising Campaigns

Nice to Haves

  • 1-4 years of experience working on campaigns preferred
  • Track record of creating systems and workflows
  • Experience with Airtable, Smartsheet, Docusign
  • Thorough knowledge of F2F Fundraising Programs

Job Details

Location: This position is mostly remote with the potential for occasional travel

Salary: The salary for this position is $52,600 – $67,600 annually depending on experience. We offer a generous benefits package, including paid vacation, paid sick leave, health insurance, hands on training, and opportunities for advancement.

Timeline: We are looking to fill this position immediately. The anticipated end date for this contract is Feb 28, 2023 with a possibility of extension
