AACI is looking for a Housing Specialist to join their fantastic domestic violence and human trafficking program, Asian Women’s Home.  AACI is a community health organization serving the marginalized communities in Santa Clara County. This professional opportunity would be great for a resourceful, independent worker with experience searching and advocating for affordable housing. AACI provides flexible schedules, professional development opportunities, and a supportive environment. AACI pays 95% of benefit premiums for full time staff and 50% of dependent benefits.

Position Summary:

The Housing Specialist builds landlord relationships and provides housing search assistance to survivors of domestic violence.  Services are client-defined and culturally responsive, with the goal of helping survivors achieve safe and stable permanent housing.  Other duties include providing multilingual outreach to potential landlords, raising awareness of domestic violence dynamics, survivors’ needs, and tenant rights; attending collaborative meetings and building relationships with community partners; and collecting data and compiling reports for funders.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has experience providing direct services to survivors of trauma and wants to contribute to the movement and one year of experience in a professional office environment, preferred.
  • Is familiar with trauma informed care
  • Has experience with case management and housing services
  • BA/BS in social work, behavioral sciences, other related fields or equivalent experience
  • Preferred if you have take taken the 40 or 65 hour Domestic Violence-Sexual Assault training offered through the an authorized provider
  • Bilingual in Vietnamese, Korean, Spanish or Chinese
