Full-Time Housing Navigator at Men’s Shelter
Job Description
ABOUT THE POSITION: The Housing Navigator is a type of Case Manager who maintains a caseload of homeless participants, many of whom have multiple barriers (i.e. serious mental illness, substance use disorders, chronic health conditions, frequent contact with law enforcement, etc.). The Housing Navigator engages and develops relationships with participants, and provides support services so that secure, stable, and permanent housing may be achieved. This is a unionized position, represented by Local 8 of the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU).
ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Blaine Center is a 24-hour enhanced program, that provides shelter for 60 male-identifying individuals. Guests access on-site housing navigation, hygiene services, daily meals, and a variety of case management resources to help eliminate barriers to stability. This intensive case management program is designed to move guest towards stable, permanent housing.

LOCATION: Near Seattle Center in Seattle, WA
REPORTS TO: Program Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
SCHEDULE #1: Sunday-Tuesday 9am-5pm and Wednesday-Thursday 12-8pm; with biweekly staff meeting Tuesday 4-6pm
SCHEDULE #2: Monday-Tuesday 12-8pm and Wednesday-Friday 9am-5pm; with biweekly staff meeting Tuesday 4-6pm
SALARY RANGE: $18.58 (Level 1) or $20.09 (Level 2 MSW) per hour
QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor’s degree required, in human services or psychology, a plus. Master’s degree preferred in social work or a related field.
- A minimum of 1-year experience in case management, desired.
- A minimum of 2-years’ experience working in a human services setting related to housing and homelessness, required.
- Or any equivalent combination of relevant education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Demonstrated familiarity with issues of homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, sexual assault, and/or domestic violence, required.
