Full-Time Housekeeper
Job Description
THE ROLE
The Union for Reform Judaism’s (URJ) OSRUI Camp seeks a housekeeper to help maintain cleanliness of campgrounds and buildings to ensure the smooth operations of the facility and an excellent experience for all guests.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The housekeeper reports to the Physical Plant Manager and is responsible for the following:
- Oversee the cleanliness and sanitation of the camp’s buildings, grounds, equipment, and other facilities consistent with the mission and established policies and procedures of the camp. Maintain safe and clean environment in compliance with camp policies, local and state regulations, and American Camp Association standards.
- Perform general housekeeping duties as assigned by manager, including but not limited to sweeping/vacuuming/mopping floors, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, emptying trash cans, cleaning kitchens and other common spaces, and making sure all assigned areas are clean, neat, and tidy. Ensure all spaces are cared for and inspected according to standards.
- Cleans restrooms, including restocking dispensers, emptying trash, cleaning and sanitizing fixtures, cleaning mirrors, spot cleaning partition doors and walls, sweeping and mopping tile floors, and cleaning toilets and urinals.
- Prepare guest rooms for overnight visitors including making beds, setting out towels, and cleaning and sanitizing all surfaces and spaces. Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards.
- Transport dirty linens to correct area to be cleaned and restocks area with clean linens
- Notify manager about any damages, deficits, and disturbances. Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience
- Ensure appropriate maintenance of all housekeeping equipment and tools. Maintain inventory of tools and supplies used in housekeeping activities.
- Assist with maintenance functions and other departments to ensure optimum service to guests

To be successful in this job, you excel in the following areas:
- Experience as a cleaner or housekeeper, or a willingness to learn and strong motivation
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
- Customer-oriented and friendly.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Incorporation of current Racial Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (i.e., ableism, LGBTQ+ Inclusion, antiracism, etc.) priorities.
