Job Description
Hourly Paid Lecturer in Floristry
£22.51 – £30.50 per hour, dependent on level of teaching qualification
Various hours per week
Various weeks per annum
Various Campuses
Start date: June 2023
We are looking to recruit an experienced Floristry tutor to deliver a range of adult learning classes.
The tutor will be able to deliver courses for the absolute beginner through to more advanced classes that support the progression of the learner’s skills and mastery of the art of floral design.
We are looking to run evening classes at level 1 and a morning class in level 2 floristry. The classes will be based at the Abingdon Campus and the Witney Campus. You may also be required to visit the Common Leys land-based campus for some training. Having experience of teaching City and Guilds or BTEC qualifications will be an advantage but we may be willing to train the right candidate. Having access to your own flowers and materials is again advantageous but not essential.
Our learners are typically adults doing the courses as a hobby or those who are looking at going into employment as a florist. We hope to recruit an enthusiastic and passionate tutor who can excite and challenge the learner to create arrangements relevant to the season or occasion.
Closing date: 30th May 2023
Interview date: 06th June 2023
In return, Abingdon & Witney College offer excellent benefits to our employees including generous pension and holiday schemes (with potential Christmas closure days), continued professional development, flexible working options, corporate gym membership, cycle/tech scheme and much more.
No candidate will meet every single desired qualification / criteria. If your experience looks a little different from what we’ve identified and you think you can bring value to the role, we’d love to learn more about you!
