The working pattern is 8.30-17.00 Tuesday-Thursday, 8.30-12.00 Friday and 9.00-13.00 Saturday (these times are flexible and can be negotiated for the right candidate)

We are recruiting for an experienced and well organised Horticulture Technician/Instructor with a passion for inspiring young people to join the team at Common Leys Farm Campus. This is an exciting post, giving the successful applicant the opportunity to work across the Horticulture Unit that has dedicated ornamental gardens, polytunnels and greenhouses as well as within the wider farm estate supporting the animal unit team to enrich their green spaces with dedicated plant life. The successful candidate will undertake technical instruction of a wide range of horticulture practices to Landbased students on a variety of courses but primarily those studying Horticulture.
You should be qualified to a minimum of level 3 in a recognised Horticulture subject and have recent experience of working within a commercial garden. You must enjoy working with people and be confident instructing students in a wide variety of routine duties and practical horticulture tasks.
Ideally you will hold your Award in Education and Training (AET), Abingdon & Witney College can help support you in gaining this qualification through the excellent training within the College, if you do not currently have this.
You would be part of a dedicated, friendly and flexible team of lecturers, instructors, technicians and support staff based at the Common Leys Farm Campus, which is our beautiful campus near Witney.
