This Role…
Take responsibility for producing accurate management information, undertaking statutory reporting and ensuring financial compliance of the global business. This is a key role within the finance department; leading and managing the Financial Accounting team, working with the UK and US finance teams and supporting employees at all levels across the business.
What you need to deliver…
• Prepare the global monthly management accounts, investor reports, financial KPIs, commentary and analysis;
• Lead the external statutory audit process and any tax or VAT audits;
• Preparing the annual statutory financial accounts, UK corporation tax returns and Companies House filings;
• Responsible for sales and cost allocation and analysis, in particular sales rebates, product costs against standardised COGS and marketing expenditure;
• Carry out all necessary actions to ensure that all legislative and regulatory financial reporting requirements are met;
• Support the preparation of the annual budget & forecast;
• Oversight of financial controls to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the financial statements in compliance with appropriate accounting standards;
• Develop and support the finance team, to enhance their skills, knowledge and capabilities in line with their desired PDP
• Undertake additional ad hoc duties / projects as and when required.
What you need to succeed…
Qualified accountant (ideally ACA or ACCA);
3-5 years experience working for or with consumer-focused business, ideally direct-to-consumer;
Experience working with a US entity;
Experience compiling controls and accounting policies;
Excellent Excel knowledge and familiar with Netsuite;
Outstanding communication skills and ability to write and present clear and concise reports;
Strong analytical skills with the ability to think strategically and creatively; and
To have an agile, proactive and approachable working style.
