About the role
You’ll join our School of Law and Social Sciences, taking responsibility for the overall success of our Discipline of Criminology and Social Sciences. Working closely with the Head of School and colleagues across the College, you’ll contribute to the wider leadership of the College and University to ensure that corporate and strategic aims are met.
You’ll have devolved responsibility from the Head of School for the line management of staff in the Discipline; through strong leadership you’ll maximise people potential and engagement across the full range of academic activities. You’ll support and develop the work of staff, students and partners in line with our University’s values and behaviours whilst ensuring teaching excellence, maximising student success and experience.
You will also maintain high standards of teaching, learning and assessment in all its forms and develop scholarship and research in the Discipline of Criminology and Social Sciences. You’ll lead by example through active engagement with teaching, research and scholarship.
In addition, you’ll initiate and encourage activity in professional/industrial engagement to enhance academic enterprise, undertaking sector horizon scanning and benchmarking performance against competitors and identifying other opportunities.
£57,427 To £71,784 per annum (for exceptional performers, there is scope for further progression up to £82,552 per annum)
