Xyla Elective Care are looking for a Head of Clinical Services to support and lead the Virtual Hospital services which include, outpatient, wards, diagnostics, and therapy services. As a member of the Virtual Hospital Senior Management team, you will oversee all aspects of the clinical operation. Key areas include virtual first outpatient services, screening services, tele dermatology, virtual wards and digital pre op.
The virtual hospital is in a phase of rapid expansion, and the postholder will play a key role in influencing the design of upcoming services.

Every day you will…
• Work with the Chief Nurse and Virtual Hospital Director in the delivery of the quality and governance agenda, ensuring local and national quality and clinical standards initiatives are embedded into practice when staff are being placed.
• Develop a job plan that ensures high visibility in clinical areas including influencing the quality of clinical care.
• Conduct site visits, advise on safety, clinical effectiveness, specialist policies and procedures, assurance of clinical standards and the patient experience.
• Assist teams to deliver improvement initiatives to ensure consistent high standards in response to risks arising from incidents, complaints, audits, and other governance activities.
• Directly line manage Clinical Service Managers and provide clinical and professional leadership to the SCP’s and SDL’s, developing a culture that values continuing professional development and supports the delivery of high-quality care.
• Contribute to the development of strategic plans that provide the assurances that XEC teams are providing patient centred care that meets the changing and complex needs of people who access our services.
• Participate on investigations and complaints as appropriate, implementing necessary changes and working with the Chief Nurse to continually monitor and update in relation to progress on action plans.

To thrive in this role, you must ideally have…
• NMC Registration.
• Experience of working in a senior nursing role (minimum band 7)
• Evidence of substantial CPD in management and other clinically related and relevant subjects.
• Experience working in a surgical care setting.
• Extensive knowledge of the NHS.
• Extensive experience in the acute healthcare setting in clinical leadership/clinical management position.
