POSITION SUMMARY

Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice, administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer, separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.

The Precinct Services department is seeking a professional, organized and service-oriented individual for the regular full-time position of Guest Services Team Lead.

Reporting to the General Manager, Parliamentary Dining Room, the Guest Services Team Lead is the first point of contact for Parliamentary Dining Room guests and is responsible for ensuring diners are welcomed and served according to the highest professional standards. This role coordinates and performs a variety of front of house duties and services including cashier, reservations, table assignments, and general dining room organization to ensure service excellence standards are consistently met.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a server in a high-volume establishment.
  • Completed the British Columbia “FOODSAFE Level1” sanitation program for food handlers.
  • Completed the provincial “Serving It Right” responsible alcoholic beverage serving program.
  • Experience organizing dining room operations and services.

Preference may be given to candidates with the following:

  • Serving experience from a private club or hotel.
