Position overview

As the Guest Experience Coordinator, you are the face of Geocaching HQ to visitors from all over the world.

You will <literally> hold down the fort, in the HQ Visitor Center. As a natural social organizer, you will provide a positive and memorable experience for all guests at Geocaching HQ.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Be physically present to welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner during core office and Visitor Center hours, finding coverage as needed
  • Punctual and inviting attitude with strong attendance history
  • Provide world-class guest service to visitors and HQ employees, from answering questions (big and small) to offering local recommendations of things to do and see
  • Steward the HQ geocaches, ensuring that they are up-to-date and well maintained
  • Support HQ merchandise program, including managing retail space and operating point-of-sale  systems
  • Promote and enhance Geocaching HQ’s professional identity
  • Edit, update, and manage visitor information systems and scheduling
  • Collaborate with other departments on special initiatives and projects
  • Act as the point person for administrative tasks related to Geocaching HQ’s reception area, including deliveries and mailing
  • Manage and respond to requests for event donations and gifts
  • Communicate regularly with geocachers across multiple channels, answering customer service questions
  • Respond to potential outreach invitations and projects
  • Maintain a clean and tidy reception area at all times
  • Have a working understanding of the Office Coordinator’s role and work closely with the Office Coordinator and the operations team by providing backup coverage as needed.
  • Problem solve and complete a variety of tasks as required

Skills and experience

  • Passion for geocaching
  • Proven ability to understand the big picture, while attending to the details to ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly
  • Ability to balance needs of the community and the business
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • High-level communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a project or task from beginning to end
  • Proficiency with databases, web applications, and Google docs
  • 1+ years of relevant experience
  • Fluency in German, Dutch, or French is a plus

Compensation and benefits

We carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your experience and internal equity, when determining individual pay. The range for this role is $43,620 to $60,530 ($20.97 to $29.10/hour). This position is eligible for annual salary increases and bonus (dependent on company & individual performance).
