How you’ll make a difference: 

As a Designer on the Creative team, you’ll drive continued growth for Custom Ink through high-quality design that inspires our customers and elevates the team’s capabilities. This role will work cross-functionally to propel Custom Ink’s marketing design offering forward to attract customers, earn sales, build lifetime value, and differentiate our brand visually through elevated design work. You will report to the Creative Design Manager and help make CustomInk a loved, admired, and enduring brand.

What you’ll do:

You’ll implement the Custom Ink brand in breakthrough creative that dramatically improves the performance of our various sales, marketing, and customer experience efforts. You’ll translate our brand strategy into creative content and design that is remarkable, distinct, and memorable. As part of the design team, you’ll evolve our style to one that is distinctly ownable by Custom Ink.

To do this, you will:

  • Bring our brand to life in an exciting way that engages key audiences and helps people envision themselves using our products and services while staying true to brand guidelines and performance
  • Leverage our brand visually to build and strengthen customer relationships that drive sales, customer loyalty, and virality
  • Develop concepts and break-through designs for marketing and eCommerce initiatives
  • Inspire the team and customers with effective, beautiful work
  • Translate data and insights into actionable design activities geared toward performance
  • Work closely with the copywriting team to ensure copy and visual design are working together
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to understand area business objectives and solve challenges with creative solutions
  • Translate our brand strategy and project creative briefs into compelling, branded designs

At Custom Ink, we love data and metrics! More than that, we love measuring the impact of our work on the experience and satisfaction of our customers. As a champion for expressing our brand and culture through exciting design that directly impacts our business, measures for this job will include:

  • Brand perception and awareness
  • Lift in sales, customer satisfaction, or team satisfaction based on creative enhancements
  • Creating engaging brand experiences that delight our customers

Of course, practicalities – like being on time and on budget with good throughput – are important as well. Over time, we will seek to establish quantitative metrics and goals in each of these areas.

What we’re looking for: 

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • 3-6 years of creative design and production design experience
  • A strong portfolio with outstanding digital and print design work that also demonstrates production abilities
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Extremely proficient in Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and InDesign
  • A process and workflow enthusiast driving toward improved quality, accuracy, and efficiency of work.
  • Proven digital and print marketing design ability
  • Experience in Web Design, UX/UI, photography, and Branding is a plus.
  • Deep understanding and use of brand standards to great effect
  • Translate brand guidelines to bring visual design to market
  • Implementation and use of brand toolkits
  • Ability to tackle challenges with creative problem-solving
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Cross-functional relationships and effectiveness
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills
  • Team orientation and collaboration are critical for this role

Since this position will play an important role across the company, you must demonstrate a high level of teamwork and leadership. You must be able to build consensus without compromising.
