Part-Time Graphic Designer

Job Description

The Wisconsin Evaluation Collaborative (WEC) is housed at the Wisconsin Center for Education Research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. WEC’s team of evaluators supports youth-serving organizations and initiatives through culturally responsive and rigorous program evaluation. Learn more at http://www.wec.wceruw.org.

This Graphic Designer position will work with WEC’s Reporting and Design team, which manages approximately 20 evaluation and research reports annually, in addition to a website, social media, numerous presentations, and other visual projects. With creative direction offered by the Reporting and Design team, this position will be responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and executing digital and print design, including, but not limited to, producing layout and formatting for reports, briefs, toolkits, and slide presentations. The Graphic Designer will contribute to the writing and general maintenance required for websites and social media. The ability to copy-edit reports is desired but not required.

Education
Required
Associate’s Degree in Graphic Design or related field.

Qualifications
Required
* At least 3 years directly related experience as evidenced by portfolio
* Full knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, and proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign. CSS and HTML skills also desired.
* A diverse portfolio that exhibits excellent use of typography, color, imagery, and graphic elements and includes examples of infographics and WordPress websites.
* Strong, clean visual design sense and ability to visually communicate project goals and objectives.
* Ability to take creative feedback, execute, and iterate quickly and efficiently.
* Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate as part of a cross-functional team.
* Knowledge of digital and print design best practices and ability to bring knowledge of cutting-edge/fresh design techniques, approaches, and ideas to each project.

Work type
Full or Part Time: 25% – 100%
This position requires some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Salary
Minimum $42,600 annual (12 months) -Depending on Qualifications
