Job Description
- Provide technical oversite, leadership, direction, policy development, and application programming in data, technology, and geospatial services.
- Develop, design, and support NCDOT data and GIS applications.
- Work with our leadership team, field staff, and the central analytics team to gather application and technology project requirements supporting the entire division.
- Develop GIS applications, create and manage data.
- Serve as a liaison to all Division 3 work teams and statewide staff to support the NCDOT & Division 3 mission.
- Data Management knowledge related to Asset Management and Geospatial applications.
- Experience investigating and understanding GIS needs of user groups and developing solutions to support project development, project delivery, and asset management.
- Experience analyzing and applying GIS technical knowledge to solve problems and provide improvement recommendations to existing systems and processes.
- Experience working independently and coordinating with multiple users with varying levels of GIS experience to facilitate the movement to a GIS-based Asset Management Platform.
- Experience managing small projects implementing technology, working with teams, field data collection, scheduling, and quality control.
- ESRI’s suites of ArcGIS products including ESRI Explorer, ESRI Collector, Survey 123, Python Programming Language, ArcGIS Python Toolbox scripting, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and Arcade.
- Dashboard creation, web app building, HTML & CSS coding.
- GIS Industry Technology and Standards.
- Knowledge of SQL related to geodatabases.
- Candidates with a driver’s license.
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science or an IT-related field; or
- A High School/GED diploma and 2+ years relevant experience in a technology-related field; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
