Job Description
Cutting Ball Theater is hiring a General Manager to support the organization’s day-to-day business operations. Cutting Ball Theater is a modestly-sized, non-profit, experimental theater company. For more about Cutting Ball, visit: cuttingball.com/about-us/purpose
- This is a non-exempt full-time position. Compensation is $55,000 annually with benefits:

- This position’s duties may be completed partially from home (3 to 4 days per week) with some duties to be completed at Cutting Ball’s theater headquarters in San Francisco (1 to 2 days per week).
- Position is hiring immediately for a January 17, 2022 start-date.
- Position is hiring as Interim General Manager – with contract through current season, concluding June 30, 2022 – with expectation of continuation if employer and employee mutually agree.
General Manager is responsible for:
- Bookkeeping and routine financial management: monthly account reconciliation; accounts payable and receivable; payroll administration; collaborating with third-party accountant, CPA.
- Grants management: grant-writing; maintaining annual grants calendar.
- Office administration: upkeeping business necessities such as insurance, compliance registrations, company memberships; cultivating an anti-oppressive office culture; maintaining office calendar and scheduling upkeep services; occasional project management.
General Manager is supervised by, works closely with Cutting Ball Theater’s Executive Artistic Director.
