Full-Time Functional Area Technical Liaison

Ball State University Information Technology is seeking a Functional Area Technical Liaison. In this role you will work with area functional team members to understand, build, support, manage and enhance processes. This includes support of incidents (break/ fix), requests, creation of project plans and the follow through to resolve all open issues and provide proactive support/guidance on all university systems. Position Function: Provide enterprise level technical support as a member of the Enterprise Project Support Office (EPSO); work with area functional team members to understand, build, support, manage and enhance processes within functional areas. This includes support of incidents (Break/ fix), requests, creation of project plans and the follow through to resolve all open issues; provide proactive support/guidance on all university systems while facilitating collaboration with functional units, Enterprise Information Systems Service staff and outsourced resources. Will be approximately 50% functional and 50% technical.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT equivalent to two years. Or, High school diploma or GED plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT equivalent to four years. At least two years working with information systems; demonstrated experience in providing technical analysis of complex business processes; ability to identify and create efficiencies and improvements of those processes; two year’s experience working with using and creating reports in an enterprise reporting solution; at least one year of enterprise project management experience. Two years’ experience in understanding and creating SQL scripts.
Minimum Other: Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in a technology or business-related program. Five years of experience working in an IT environment and two years of project management experience with large multi-faceted projects at a higher educational institution providing technology solutions at a managerial or leadership level.
Preferred Other: Two years’ experience with a higher education ERP solution (Preferably Banner).
Salary range for this position: $65,000
