Position Description
Bard High School Early College (BHSEC) Baltimore, a partnership between Bard College and the Baltimore City Public Schools (BCPS) in Baltimore, Maryland, invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Visual Arts for a temporary, short-term leave replacement position. The position begins January 2024 and is expected to run through mid February or March (for a 6-8 week period). The sub-field of specialization is open. The course load is a full teaching schedule of 4 courses- 2 sections of Anatomy and 2 sections of an additional course. Experience in working with teenage and college-level students and an ongoing commitment to the artistic community are desirable. An MFA or equivalent degree is preferred.

Compensation: The compensation for teaching these classes is based on the BCPS salary scale and will be between $6,250 and $14,700 depending the length of time taught and experience/salary scale.
Location: Bard High School Early College in Baltimore, MD
Start Date: The position begins sometime in January 2024 and is expected to run through mid February or March (for a 6-8 week period)
Position End Date: This position is meant to be a temporary, full-time leave replacement position and should end 6 to 8 weeks after the hire date.
- A Masters degree is required. MFA or Ph.D., high school teaching experience, and/or experience working with youth is preferred.

- The successful applicant for this position must be committed to teaching classes at both the high school and college levels
- In addition, the chosen candidate will be expected to participate fully in the life of the school, including student advising, club advising, and committee service
- Interest in working with high school age students who are completing a college-level course of study is desired.

- Candidates must understand cultural difference and purposefully help to uplift ideas from underrepresented groups to improve the equity balance in education
