Salary Range: $2,823 – $3,707
The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) is expanding Oregon State Hospital’s (OSH) infrastructure and currently has a fantastic opportunity for food service workers with commercial food service experience to join an excellent team and work to advance their operations. The OSH provides patient-centered psychiatric treatment for adults with mental illness from throughout the state. What you will do!
These positions are responsible for serving meals, operating cash register, delivering meals and products, preparing foods and dishing items for meals throughout the department. Tasks and duties will be assigned by supervising cooks and PIC.
- Provides relief coverage in all areas of the food service as needed, including kitchen and dining room cleanup such as washing dishes, pots and pans, and cooking utensils, sinks, counters, tables and chairs and sweeping and mopping floors.
- Counts out various items daily; chips, fruits, individual snack items, breads, packaged desserts, breads etc.
- Makes salads, sandwiches; cleans, cuts, and chops vegetables and fruits; slices meats, prepares simple foods according to standardized menus, recipes, or verbal instructions given by supervisor, P.I.C.
- May record adjustments on worksheets to eliminate shortage or excessive waste of food products; uses various types of commercial kitchen equipment such as mixers, choppers; prepares simple desserts such as puddings.
- Checks for proper temperature of prepared foods with thermometer; observes food to be sure it is visually appealing.
- Prep, set up, clean and break down of cook line, and serves breakfast, lunch and/or dinner.
