Salary range: £55,179-£60,141
Type of contract: Permanent
Location: London, Hybrid
Working hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Controller to join our team. This position is based in the Finance Department and reports to the Finance Director. As the Financial Controller, you will manage all financial transaction processing, oversee financial controls including monthly balance sheet reconciliations and lead on the preparation of the annual statutory accounts. This is a particularly interesting time to join the department as we are in the process of reviewing both our CRM and Accounting systems and this role will be closely involved in these business critical project discussions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility for the year-end accounts, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and liaison with our external auditors
- Line management of the sales ledger and purchase ledger teams
- Oversight and administration of the Exchequer finance system
- Tax returns including the quarterly VAT return and the annual partial exemption calculation.
About you
This position will suit a knowledgeable finance professional with strong technical skills looking for a leadership role within an ambitious and dynamic team committed to delivering a high quality customer focused finance service for the College.
- Qualified accountant – CCAB body qualification i.e. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent accounting qualification.
- Solid experience of producing financial statements and statutory accounts.
- An understanding of the accounting rules for Charity Accounts. (FRS102)
- Experience of managing staff including staff appraisals, performance management and staff development.
- Experience of managing financial accounting packages.
