Full-Time Financial Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis
Job Description

Business Overview
As part of the Finance division, the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) group provides value added reporting and analysis that ultimately moves the business forward strategically and operationally. The group includes the Budgeting and Forecasting, Corporate Treasury, Decision Support and Management Reporting functions for various Fidelity Canada entities.
The Purpose of the Role
The Financial Analyst will be reporting into the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis and is responsible for supporting the budgeting and forecasting function within the team. Specifically, the financial analyst will assist with the completion of the Quarterly Rolling Financial Forecast cycle as well as assist with development of an annual budget.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create and continue to develop/enhance rolling monthly revenue forecasts, ensuring integrity of all inputs (rates/assets)
- Coordinate with other members of the finance department in assisting with the development and consolidation of expense forecasts
- Creation and maintenance of various forecast templates for consolidation of results
- Assist in creation of a quarterly rolling forecast reporting package and related analysis
- Assist with the consolidation of the Fidelity Canada P&L (3-year period)
- Analysis of various P&L line items to identify associated impact of short-term balance sheet accounts, specifically cash impact
- Build out efficiencies in existing forecasting processes and systems
- Participate in special projects and other ad hoc analysis as required
What We’re Looking For
- University degree with a focus on business, preferably Accounting
- 1-2 years of experience working in a finance department or professional accounting firm, with experience in financial analysis, reporting, budgeting and/or business planning
- Experience working in the Financial Services industry preferred but not required
- Completion of or working towards a financial/accounting designation (CPA: CA, CMA, CGA)
