Full-Time Finance Assistant – Accounts Payable

The position we are seeking to fill is a Finance Assistant (FTC) to support the finance function

The successful candidate will have responsibilities for:
- Post purchase invoices/credit notes onto the multi-company and multi-currency accounting system.
- Reconcile supplier statements to purchase ledger accounts and checking debit balance accounts.
- Produce supplier payment runs and managing these within a cash budget.
- Process the supplier BACS and payment runs in 3 different currencies.
- Deal with purchase ledger queries internally and externally, in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Post UK and overseas staff expense claims and process for weekly payments.
- Reconcile and post company credit cards statements onto the accounting system.
- Produce purchase invoice accruals for month end.
- Provide cash book postings, weekly bank reconciliations and aid with cash flow forecasts.
- Over 3 years’ experience in relevant role within a fast-paced finance department with sound knowledge of purchase ledger processes
- Experience of ERP systems
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Data entry skills and numeracy skills
- Proficient in Excel with good working knowledge of other Microsoft Office packages
- Well organised and able to prioritise concurrent deadlines
- Customer services focused and results orientated
- Further education qualification in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration, or an Accounting Qualification (e.g. AAT or PQ ACCA)
- Experience of sales ledger
- Access Dimensions and Focal Point accounting software
