Field Service Tech
Summary
Field Service Technicians serve their customers by providing preventative maintenance (fluid, filters, inspection), repairs (anything from tightening a bolt to replacing an engine) onsite at customer locations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience
- Servicing and repairing heavy equipment. This may include, but is not limited to:
- Transportation: railcarmovers, locomotives, airplanes, helicopters
- Industrial:forklifts,manlifts,cranes
- Agricultural:combines,tractors
- Military:tanks,APC,MRAP,HMMT
- Construction: backhoes,bulldozers,cranes,skidsteers
Technical Skills
- Understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems/ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Working knowledge of diesel engines, heavy duty axles(planetary), air compressors, pumps
- Comfortable speaking to customers at all levels (operators on up to the president of a company)
- Computer literate (must be able to navigate through electronic work orders, part manuals, etc.)

Other Requirements
- Must have a Valid Driver’s License
Travel
- All service work is completed onsite at customer locations, via company vehicle.
- FST’s are supplied with a service vehicle and have the potential to travel up to 5hrs one-way, to support customer needs.
- 85% of travel is within a 200-mile radius.
Working Conditions
- Field environment
- Requires walking, standing, sitting, moderate to heavy lifting, infrequent climbing.
- Exposure to outside temperatures in all weather conditions
- Must be able to work some weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Must enjoy working alone.
- Periodic on-call duties
