Job Description

Faculty Administrators 

£21,483-£22,934, per annum 

37 hours per week  

The working patterns are Mon-Thurs 7.5 hours & 7 hours per day on Friday   

52 weeks per annum

We are seeking to appoint three highly motivated, well organised, professional administrators with excellent communication, literacy, numeracy, and IT skills to support different departments across Abingdon & Witney College.   

The successful applicants will be able to thrive in a very busy environment and provide a high level of administrative support, including diary management, minute taking, organisation of faculty interviews and open days, various marketing events and a range of other secretarial functions.  

The work of the faculty is extremely varied, and you must have a flexible approach to work whilst maintaining the ability to prioritise and meet challenging deadlines. The successful candidates would be required to travel between campuses and provide administrative support where necessary.  

We are recruiting for Faculty Administrators for the following departments: 

19+ English, Maths and ESOL department 

In addition to the above-mentioned tasks, some of the main duties for the Faculty Administrator in this department is the organisation of student interviews, exam arrangements and invigilation. This is largely a customer-facing role; communicating with adult learners via email, telephone and face-to-face. Learners in this department have varying levels of English. The ability to adapt and communicate clearly is a vital part of this role. Department processes and records are largely kept in Excel. An excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages is advantageous.  

Due to the nature of the courses, some flexibility to work evenings will be required during busy periods of the term, e.g. to assist with the start of courses, exam invigilation, open days and supporting tutors as necessary at various venues.  

Technology 

You would be working with teams to deliver outstanding customer service to our learners and apprentices within the Technology department.  

In this role you will be supporting the Motor Vehicle, Engineering, Computing and Science teams to ensure they have the admin support to continue to deliver the highest level of student experience here at the college.  

The department consists of over 250 16-19 full time learners, adult learners and over 100 apprentices. The role will require flexibility and occasional evening support with events at the college.  

The role will be based at the Abingdon Campus but will require travel to support our learners studying at Witney campus when needed.    

Study Programmes 

Study Programmes contribute towards the overall College experience for 16-18 learners and supports students as they prepare to progress to their next steps which may be another college course, University and/or relevant employment. The work of Study Programmes is extremely rich and varied. It includes supporting the English and maths delivery team, organising trips and events, supporting staff to follow processes using a variety of software packages, overseeing the completion of the H+S process for work experience and placements, communicating with stakeholders such as parents, students, and employers and providing the highest level of customer care. The role is fast paced and exciting.
