JOB FUNCTION
Position Summary: The Extraction Laboratory Technician will assist in all processes involved in processing raw cannabis into final packaged product. This will include biomass preparation, solvent-less extraction, CO2 extraction, ethanol extraction, winterization, filtration, solvent removal, distillation, and filling/packaging. Strong candidates will have good technical knowledge and previous experience in a laboratory setting or cannabis facility.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare biomass for extraction including grinding and sifting
- Process solventless extraction (Ice Water, Dry Sift, and Rosin);
- Operate CO2 machine including loading, running, and cleaning;
- Operate refinement equipment including rotovap, vacuum filtration device, distillation machine, and vacuum purge ovens;
- Perform packaging duties for filling primary containers such as vapes, tinctures, capsules, and edibles in addition to secondary packaging such as labeling and boxing;
- Equipment maintenance including cleaning runs and part replacement;
- General cleaning of surfaces, equipment, and labware;
- Understand and utilize SOPs for record production data;
- Quality control and general product quality grading;
JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Education: Four-year college or two-year technical degree in science or engineering related field (chemistry preferred). Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in the laboratory or cannabis industry.
Minimum Experience:
- Work in a production environment or service industry
Preferred Experience:
- Previous cannabis or laboratory experience
- Technical service or production environment
- Solventless cannabis production

Physical | Regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 50 pounds occasionally, includes sitting or standing for extended periods of time, as well as occasional stooping, bending over and/or crouching. Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time (i.e., packing biomass columns, weighing, and packaging).

Hours & Conditions | Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Adapt schedule to work alongside the changing demands of the Facility. On a regular and recurring basis, the employee must alternate between contaminated/dirty environments to clean. Strong odors may be encountered and those with sensitive allergic reactions to cannabis should beware. Work is generally conducted in well ventilated, heated, and air-conditioned areas.

Other | Authorization to work in the United States, or the ability to obtain the same. Must obtain a State Agent Card. Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the industry. Must pass all required background checks.
