MKG has offices in NYC and LA. Candidates are expected to live within commuting distance of either office and be present for collaborative, in-person work Tues-Thurs.

Overview: 

Lead and manage large and complex projects, teams, and clients. Increased focus and emphasis on the development of management, mentorship, and leadership role within the department. Manage and develop a team of direct reports on an ongoing basis.

Growth We’re Looking for Over Time 

  • Proven ability/record of ensuring direct reports adhere to MKG processes, major project milestones
  • Assistance with developing and tracking the progress of direct report’s goals outlined for mid-year and end of year
  • Leader in communicating MKG brand refresh, mission, place in the marketplace – internally and externally
  • Leadership agency-wide, as a representative of the department and senior staff
  • Be a strategic driver on active projects and those of direct reports, help grow strategic and thinking /contributions of direct reports

Responsibilities 

  • Lead and execute large, multi-channel projects with creative and strategic objectives
  • Manage teams that may include Producer(s), AP(s), PA(s), interns, and/or other specialists or freelancers
  • Flawless, clear, and consistent communication internally as well as external client /partner management
  • Proactively and clearly explain/educate clients on team roles and responsibilities, scope, deliverables, budget, schedules, and program status
  • Adept at ensuring a project stays on strategy and meeting client’s KPIs and priorities while keeping the details of a project on track
  • Actively contribute to the conceptual, creative, and strategic development of programs
  • Work intimately with Design and Pink Sparrow throughout the design development, budgeting, feasibility vetting and build phases of a project
  • Prepared with solutions when escalating/discussing a situation with supervisors, clients, and partners
  • Manage events with live show/programming and technical elements with limited supervision (i.e. awards shows, panels, and summits requiring show/script development, tech teams, and stage/show management)
  • Has experience working with technical vendors, fabricators, specialists, and artists throughout the country
  • Work with Head of Production on project assignments for team members
  • Guide team development by building skill set, exposure to new projects/ challenges, and providing ongoing constructive feedback to help support career growth
  • Successfully balance active producing responsibilities with day-to-day management and guidance of all direct reports on teams and projects
  • Ensure departmental reports follow and adhere to established processes during all phases of a project: from kickoff, pre-production, production, execution, and wrap/close
  • Nurture individual producing styles while maintaining and enforcing MKG’s consistent approach and process
  • Supervise reports’ budget development, management, and tracking for programs
  • Conduct individual weekly meetings with direct team reports
  • Work with direct reports to establish and refine mid-year and end of year goals
  • Lead mid-year and end of year evaluations for direct report evaluations
  • Author (with Finance) SOWs, LOAs, scope additions/addendums, etc. as necessary
  • Work with Production Ops Director and Head of Production to grow departmental vendor and freelance talent pools/relationships

  • Proven ability to successfully lead large projects with multidisciplinary teams/departments
  • Ability to manage and supervise various projects and teams simultaneously
  • Excellent project management, organizational, delegation, and prioritization skills
  • Excellent client and team management skills
  • Proven track record to manage and build client relationships
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills – internally and externally
  • Diplomatic when handling / working with all clients, including executive management
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Solid leadership and management foundation, skills, and experience
  • Decisive, assertive, strategic, and politically aware in their decision making
  • Experienced and creative approach to budget management and revenue growth
  • Team leader who fosters excitement and collaboration
