The Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) is the state’s lead agency serving people with disabilities. The mission of the Division is to assist individuals with disabilities in achieving their goals of employment, education, and independent living. This position serves as the statewide coordinator for vocational rehabilitation and related employment services responsible for supporting individuals with serious mental illness, with particular emphasis on Individual Placement and Support services, developmental disabilities, and addiction. The Division of Rehabilitation Services is seeking to hire a dynamic and organized manager with strong leadership and communication skills for this position.
Job Responsibilities
Serves as the statewide coordinator for vocational rehabilitation and related employment services.
Oversees the establishment and maintenance of working relationships with community partners.
Oversees special projects, technical assistance training, and service arrangements on Individual Placement and Support supporting the Division’s mission, services, and strategic plan.
Interprets policies and procedures related to Individual Placement and Support targeting individuals with serious mental illness, developmental disabilities, and addiction.
Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties listed above.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with coursework in business or public administration.
Requires two (2) years of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Three (3) years of professional experience working in an individual placement and support environment, which includes utilizing federal and state regulations related to rehabilitation programs such as the Rehabilitation Act and amendments, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
2. Two (2) years of professional experience utilizing state and federal rules, policies, and procedures governing vocational rehabilitation and knowledge of labor market information and workforce trends as it relates to targeted populations.
3. Two (2) years of professional experience utilizing effective communication skills and strong abilities in writing, speaking and listening as well as self-management and interpersonal skills.
4. One (1) year of professional experience reviewing rules, procedures, and/or policies and making recommendations for changes.
5. One (1) year of professional experience working with virtual communication environments, such as WebEx, Microsoft Teams, and other methods of communicating with agency staff, community providers, and internal and external stakeholders.
6. One (1) year of professional experience working with software packages such as Microsoft Outlook, Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and preparing reports and presentations for various audiences.
