Full-Time Executive Assistant/ Personal Assistant/ Legal Assistant
Job Description
Athens GA based owners of multi-state workers’ rights law firm www.andersondodson.com + CO-based nontraditional family law firm www.newleaf.family seek high-level general assistance. We are too busy for our own good trying to combat various inequalities in the world and need support help on day to day things that need getting done.
One time I went to a hotel and needed to send out a FedEx. I asked the front desk person where a drop box was and they said, “I’ll take care of that for you!” Cool, I thought. That was helpful. A couple days later I came to the lobby struggling with my luggage and somebody came up to me and said, “Here, I’ll take care of that for you!” and helped me with the suitcase. At first I didn’t realize that phrase was the hotel’s “thing” but in realizing that was their attitude in general I loved it. It’s an attitude I try to take with my own clients (and staff), and also like to experience myself with people working with me. Is this a mindset you have, or feel you easily could adopt in the right environment?
Combination of remote/home based work and some in person tasks in the Athens area so you would need to live in the general area. Est. 30-35 hrs/wk. (Full time but probably not 40 hrs, much less over) The ideal candidate will have an amazing “can-do” attitude, exceptional problem solving skills, and (once you get to know us a little) the ability to identify and anticipate needs before they arise (i.e. don’t just wait around for somebody to tell you what to do next – proactively seek out improvements that contribute to our work/mission).
Team members tend to love our culture, and you will work with some really cool people (both locally and from afar).
Know thyself – if you tend to be organized and tidy, you’re more likely to be a good fit; if your home living space kind of a mess, this probably isn’t the job for you. Do you love bringing organization and order to a situation? If so, keep reading. If you do not substantial have experience using basic office software, office supplies, and office machinery (scanners, copiers, printers etc), please do not apply – these are considered basic and we (quite honestly) don’t have time to train at that level. You also need to have solid interpersonal skills and a growth mindset – friendly, good sense of humor (able to tolerate bad puns and “dad jokes,” in particular), able to figure things out for yourself but also know when to ask questions, see feedback not as failure but as an opportunity to learn and do better next time, self-sufficient/not “needy” and an effective communicator.
Your duties will be varied, and not always exciting unto themselves — but they’re all important and must be done meticulously and correctly. A few examples of day to day work include picking up mail, processing it in (as per detailed SOP; scanning/communicating to relevant people), packing/shipping gift boxes for new clients, organizing files, preparing outgoing mail packets, being handed a document that comes in to respond to or handle (e.g. annual notice to re-register with some gov’t entity or another), running light personal errands (taking things to recycling or donation centers; taking/picking up dry cleaning), sending out company holiday cards or gifts, entering data into a spreadsheet as per directions, scheduling personal appts with reference to nutty biz calendars and travel schedules, etc etc.
Experience as an executive assistant, personal assistant, and/or office assistant. Pay is hourly, starting at $15-18 DOE. There are opportunities for professional growth within the firm if desired.

Just email me for now (resume + an email describing why you're interested and anything else you think we should know about you that isn't in your resume.) We have not formally posted this job yet. Honestly this is the first time I am using this particular site to list jobs so I want to see if we get a lot of response first before posting it on our usual job posting site (WizeHire).140 total views, 0 today
