Position Description:

The Social Changery seeks an experienced Executive Assistant to support our CEO and executive team. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in small businesses, non-profits, or startups. Specific expertise in media marketing, public health, public relations and/or ethnic/cultural competency is preferred but not required. The role entails managing the CEO’s schedule and priorities, along with performing administrative tasks, implementing processes, handling schedules, coordinating meetings, managing travel arrangements, conducting research, running errands, supporting events and fostering positive relationships across the organization. We are seeking candidates who desire deeper expertise and growth within the executive assistant role.

The Executive Assistant will:

  • Manage access to the CEO’s time and assist with prioritization and task management.
  • Provide an appropriate introduction to The Social Changery to external stakeholders.
  • Exercise discernment in determining tasks that genuinely warrant the CEO’s attention versus those that can be effectively handled by others.
  • Create and implement a scheduling strategy for the CEO that allows time for transitions, planning, focused work and other non-meeting activities.
  • Prepare daily briefings to start the CEO’s day, including meetings, deliverables, issues needing attention and status updates.
  • Accompany the CEO in meetings to take notes, flag action items, anticipate next steps and disseminate information.
  • Manage external vendors in providing services to The Changery, including job costing, documentation follow-up and project management.
  • Efficiently handle a range of administrative responsibilities to support the CEO, COO, and the broader leadership team, as well as operational and HR-related duties.
  • Demonstrate professional-level communication skills with the ability to represent the CEO, present information logically, and serve as a reliable thought partner.
  • Work in a tech-savvy manner with a focus on process improvement, and understanding of where available tools can provide value, and adaptability to new technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, human resources, communications, or five years of relevant professional experience in a similar field preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience as an executive assistant, administrative assistant, administrative services manager, or equivalent position required.
  • Highly trustworthy and responsible, able to maintain confidentiality around strategic, operational, personnel, and financial information.

Position Summary

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week, salaried exempt position
  • Must be based in the greater Sacramento region
  • Fully remote with occasional in-person meetings and errands
  • Some travel to meetings and events required
  • Transportation needed for meetings and events
  • Primarily standard business hours (e.g., Mon-Fri 9:00 a.m. to – 5:30 p.m.), with option for negotiated flexible hours as workload allows; some evenings and weekends are required for special events or conferences

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary: $75,000 – $90,000 commensurate with experience
