Job Description:
This is a 10-month position which will be paid over 12 months.
The Exceptional Student Education Support Teacher at the NWFSC Collegiate High School (CHS) is directly accountable to the Collegiate High School Assistant Principal for the following duties and responsibilities:
- Identify and place eligible students into appropriate education programs for exceptional students
- Provide support and assistance to the local educational agency representative in all ESE related meetings/conferences (initial eligibility/placement, review/development, dismissal)
- Reviewing referral and evaluation date
- Planning, scheduling, and conducting conferences with parents
- Provide follow-up work on committee recommendations
- Develops, reviews, and revises IEP and 504 documents
- Provide all documentation as required by the district
- Serves as a resource to students
- Small group testing
- Regular student check-ins and support
- Small group meetings/education
- Serve as resource to teachers
- Selection of appropriate instructional materials and equipment
- Effective instructional techniques for behavior management in ESE classrooms
- Small group testing
- Staff development
- Implementation of district procedures policy (pupil progression, discipline, etc.)
- Facilitate the inclusionary model for appropriate exceptional students
- Provide current and accurate records
- Child count data
- FTE projection and verification
- Case management status
- Serves as an advocate and positive representative in the community for the Collegiate High School mission and the students
- Participates in and complies with all mandatory and directed safety practices, drills, and trainings
- Completes assigned tasks and duties by due dates
- As a part of the college’s risk management tool, completes annual mandatory compliance training
- Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or higher
- Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication
- Holds a valid Florida Educator’s Certificate with appropriate coverage or endorsement in an Exceptional Student Education
- Three (3) years of experience in a K-12 or college setting.
