Full-Time Events and Experiences Manager

Job Description

The Events and Experiences Manager position is responsible for overseeing SPFC’s signature events, developing and sustaining relationships with corporate sponsors, representing SPFC at community events, and serving as the primary point of contact for civic, faith and other groups who seek to support SPFC. The Events and Experiences Manager will support the Chief Development Officer in the areas of annual appeals, sponsor identification and engagement, and event planning and management. This person must enjoy working with the community and various organizations while holding true to the St. Petersburg Free Clinic’s long-term strategic vision and mission.

Position Responsibilities

Signature Events

  • Manages all aspects SPFC’s signature fundraising events including event design; planning and logistics management; sourcing and coordinating vendors; managing committees and others involved in events; events implementation, including the oversight of all details; and event execution
  • Manages and facilitates sponsor solicitations including follow up, tracking and stewardship
  • In partnership with CDO and Director of Communications, plans, creates and facilitates event-related communications and production of events collateral
  • Develops and manages event budgets and works with finance and development teams on reconciliation, reporting and event close-out

Partner Experience

  • Manages third-party events, including evaluating the fit of potential opportunities, facilitating event applications, managing relationships and representing SPFC at third-party events
  • Manages corporate and group partnership programs that include funding support, volunteer opportunities, in-kind support (e.g., food drives), and other engagement strategies
  • Manages SPFC’s in-kind support program, including serving as the initial point of contact for food drives and partnering with programs on in-kind drive logistics and follow-up
  • Ensures all in-kind donors are recognized, property recorded and that relationships are maintained

Donor Experience

  • In partnership with CDO and Director of Communications, creates and implements tactics for annual fund donors, including: monthly giving, employee giving/employer match programs, two annual appeals, and Giving Tuesday

General

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participation in offsite and after-hours professional organizations.
  • Act as an integral member of the Development team who is willing to assist where needed

Agency-wide Responsibilities

  • Partners across departments to understand the needs of the business as related to events and sponsorships
  • Attends and actively participates in team and agency-wide meetings
  • Maintain documentation and records in compliance with policies and procedures

  • Raiser’s Edge or other donor database experience preferred

Education & Experience:

  • 3 or more years’ experience in event planning and donor and/or partner relations
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent form an accredited four-year college or university, or a combination of education and experience

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • During events, standing and walking for prolonged periods may be required
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to handle or feel.
  • The employee frequently is required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
