Job Description
British Triathlon is the National Governing Body for Triathlon, Duathlon and Aquathlon in Great Britain, responsible for raising the profile and delivering medal-winning performances and helping everyone discover, enjoy and achieve in triathlon.
Triathlon England is one of the three Home Nations of British Triathlon, the other two being TriathlonScotland and Welsh Triathlon. The three Home Nation Associations are responsible for all aspects of triathlon in their respective countries, and contribute to the work of British Triathlon.
In the glow of Rio and other key successes, British Triathlon’s vision is to continue to grow participation in the sport through the delivery of inspirational event opportunities. Key to this is the new British Triathlon Mixed Relay Cup Nottingham 2017 which will be organised in collaboration with Nottingham City Council through a Local Organising Committee with extensive experience of delivering world-class triathlon events including Tri Liverpool and ITU World Triathlon Series events.
Reporting to the Event Operations Coordinator, the Operations Intern will play a supporting role in the delivery of the British Triathlon Mixed Relay Cup Nottingham on 2 September 2017 and Under 20s Festival on Monday 28 August 2017.
Responsibilities include:
– Co-ordinating elite athlete logistics, including accommodation, travel and catering
– Assist with the collation of elite athlete information
– Help to manage queries
– Play a key part in the athlete and spectator experience
– Help to put together the event look and wayfinding plan
– Co-ordinate Technical Officials’ event week logistics
– Be a key team member onsite during event week
– Support on other British Triathlon events during this period including the British Triathlon U20s Festival
Must be available to work throughout the month of July and August, including weekends and unsociable hours.
The role will be based at the British Triathlon headquarters located at Loughborough University; however, the nature of the role may require evening and weekend working and occasional travel.
