Full-Time Evaluation Specialist

Job Description

BGC Canada is seeking a contract Evaluation Specialist to support the Club Services Team with data-related tasks. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Impact and Evaluation, this position will build forms to collect data from Clubs and monitor and review submissions. The Specialist will support the Managers of Programs with reporting data to government and corporate funders. The Specialist will provide technical assistance and administrative support, as needed. This is a full-time, contract role ending on March 31, 2025.

About You

You are a dynamic individual who thrives in a professional, fast-paced, and detail-oriented environment. About the Role

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the Manager, Program Evaluation and external evaluators with data-related tasks for program evaluations, including for the Youth Engagement Initiative
  • Participate in Youth Engagement Initiative project meetings to plan and coordinate data collection activities and troubleshoot issues
  • Create data collection tools using Formstack and Microsoft Excel (e.g., surveys, Club reporting forms, participant tracking tools for Clubs, etc.)
  • Track data submissions to ensure datasets are complete for reporting and evaluation
  • Review reports submitted by Clubs to check for accuracy and completeness
  • Use strong interpersonal and communication skills to follow up with Clubs about missing data
  • Clean and analyze quantitative data for reporting using Microsoft Excel
  • Create data summaries for Managers to use for reporting to government and corporate funders and to share with Clubs
  • Support the creation of knowledge translation products (e.g., infographics, evaluation briefs, etc.)
  • Provide Formstack technical assistance to BGC Canada national and Club staff
  • Respond to questions from Clubs about evaluation and reporting requirements
  • Provide administrative support to Club Services Team as needed, including Salesforce data entry and for the Learning and Impact Project (BGC Canada’s national evaluation project)

Desirable

  • Training in program evaluation with knowledge about evaluation theories, models, methods, and tools
  • Ability to create data tracking and summary sheets in Microsoft Excel using functions and Pivot Tables
  • Experience in a charity or not-for-profit organization, ideally in a federated model
  • Experience with reporting data to funders
  • Designing data communication tools such as charts and infographics
  • Experience with Formstack Forms
  • Experience with Canva
  • Experience using tools to streamline and automate work, such as Power Automate
  • Experience using Salesforce
  • Proficiency in French

Working Environment

The successful candidate can work remotely outside Toronto, Ontario; if in Toronto, they will be expected to work in a hybrid model out of the national office. When working from home, the incumbent must have a space where they can work comfortably and focus on their tasks. BGC Canada will provide the necessary technology required to get the job done.

This is a full-time, contract role ending on March 31, 2025. The starting salary range for this position begins at $55,000, plus excellent benefits. Placement within the range is commensurate with experience.
